FPL CAPTAIN PICKS FOR GAME WEEK 1

Once again that time of the year is upon us, the start of the new premier league season of 2022/2023 and In usual fashion, the transfer window has been frantic with a lot of money and players being moved in and out of the premier league, some very high profile transfers as well as some with plenty of potentials to become something and some being a mix of both because of how young and prolific said players are.

In usual fashion, I'm here once again to guide you in your selection of a captain for the coming game week but in an unusual fashion, it won't be based purely on stats but rather my FPL gut as there aren't numbers from the new season to work with yet. So let's get right into it

1. Salah (13m): the first name on the list should come as no surprise to you or anybody that has played FPL in the last 2 or 3 years, I mean it's the man himself, the only thing that can justify you not having him and making him your captain against newly promoted Fulham is the fact that you somehow hate points and don't want them. He finished last season as the joint top scorer alongside Son, and from all indicators in the preseason and in their recent community shield match against Manchester city he doesn't look like slowing down soon, you might want to triple captain him If you're looking to get a head start early.

2. Harry Kane (11.5m): the Englishman found his form towards the end of last season after Tottenham appointed Conte to take charge of their team for the rest of the season and was very instrumental in the spurs' charge for the top four in the third part of the last season, his combination with son is a tested and trust one which has yielded fruits over time and I expect it to do the same this week against Southampton at home.

3. Son (12m): coming as the third man on the list is none other than Son, he finished the last season as the joint top scorer with 23 goals, his personal best haul in a single premier league season since he arrived at Tottenham. The opening fixture for Tottenham is the home game against Southampton and they might want to lay down a marker for the rest of the season if anyone is going to be involved in a Tottenham goal aside from Harry Kane it's most likely going to be this man, either he scores or gets an assist for his striker partner. His price is a little steep but considering his potential output he's completely worth it.

4. Bruno Fernandes (10m): this name might come as w surprise to most and it is a big risk considering the team he plays for but the man has proven himself to be a standout player on a number of occasions and has a knack for some crazy one-off performances, in United's opening home fixture of last season he netted a hat trick against Leeds which was due to the poor defending and his ability to capitalize on it and punish them. United have a new manager who has been known In the past to show love to his central attacking midfielder and if that trend continues into this new season Bruno should be involved with a lot of good things for united in the final third of the pitch, against Brighton at home is a really good opportunity to captain him and hopefully, it pays off.

5. KDB (12m): the fifth and final name on the list is none other than the Manchester City talisman, arguably the most likely to give returns after salah is this man, we all know how seriously Manchester city takes the premier league and this man is central to almost everything good about their attack, with new energy being injected into the team over the transfer window and the addition of natural striker, his assist tally is projected to go through the roof this season. This weekend city squares off against West Ham away from home and this should be an easy victory for the defending champions.

This concludes my list, check back next week for more juice tips to guide you in your FPL journey.
