FPL GAME WEEK 1 PREVIEW

Welcome back to League Football, welcome back to EPL, and welcome back to FPL! It’s been a long time away from our darling club football but we’re back again! We’ve all missed the action, heartbreaks, and joyful chants but all of that is back underway this weekend, as we get into Game week 1 analysis:

1. Crystal Palace v Arsenal: A battle between familiar foes, one that has been waging since last season and I’m very sure that fans on opposite sides are truly looking forward to it. Who will edge it out in this fixture? Players to watch are;

Crystal Palace: Zaha (7.0m), Eze (5.5m), and Mateta (5.5m).

Arsenal: Saka (8.0m), Jesus (8.0m), and Martinelli (6.0m).

2. Fulham v Liverpool: Back to top flight versus back to title charge. A great test for Fulham on opening day as they take on last season’s UCL finalists. Can they put up a fight against the intensity of the Liverpool team? Look out for;

Fulham: Mitrovic (6.5m), Cavaleiro (5.0m), and Omomah (4.5m).

Liverpool: Salah (13.0m), Diaz (8.0m), and Arnold (7.5m).

3. Bournemouth v Aston Villa: The cherries take on Aston Villa on opening day as they will look to battle it out to see who will be on the winning side. Players to watch are;

Bournemouth: Tavernier (5.0m), Solanke (6.0m), and Billing (5.5m).

Aston Villa: Coutinho (7.0m), Watkins (7.5m), and Martinez (5.0m).

4. Leeds vs Wolves: Leeds has done an awful lot of business this summer, unlike wolves. But both teams offer us affordable assets that can get good points. My picks are;

Leeds: Harrison 6.0m, Rodrigo 6.0m, Bamford 7.5m

Wolves: Neto 5.5m, Podence 5.5m, Coady 5.0m

5. Everton vs Chelsea: Everton's assets are affordable but who will play? Chelsea has almost the same team but lots of returnees, who will play? My picks are;

Everton; Gray 5.5m, Gordon 5.5m, Mc Neil 5.5m

Chelsea; James 6.0m, Mendy 5.0, Sterling 10.0m

6. Leicester vs Brentford: Leicester has been the quietest team in the window, which means the assets are the same can be said about Brentford in terms of assets despite doing few transfers. My picks are;

Leicester; Maddison 8.0m, Barnes 7.0m, Vardy 9.5m

Brentford; Mbuemo 6.0m, Toney 7.0m, Jansson 4.5m

7. Man Utd vs Brighton: Both teams have retained their Main assets, I can't be the only one attracted to the prices of these players, good bargain for a start I tell you. My picks are;

Man Utd: Sancho 7.5m, Rashford 6.5m, Bruno 10.0m

Brighton; Trossard 6.5m, Maupay 6.5m, Dunk 4.5m

 8. Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest: The newest money boys on the block versus a team I term to be “the underdog” Will the magpies remind them what it means to be in the EPL? Or will the new boys show that they deserve to be there? We’d find out, as all eyes should focus on;

Newcastle: Saint-Maximin 6.5m, Wilson 7.5m, Bruno 6.0m

Nottingham Forest: Lingard 6.0m, Johnson 6.0m, Surridge 5.0m

9. Tottenham v Southampton: Spurs have been super busy in the market this summer, and have heavily recruited players for the new season. They get to test out the new squad on opening day against Southampton, notoriously known to frustrate teams on their very good day. Player picks are;

Tottenham: Son 12.0m, Kane 11.5m, Perisic 5.5m

Southampton: Ward-Prowse 6.5m, Adams 6.5m, El-younussi 5.5m

10. West Ham v Man City: The Hammers set to test out their new hammers against the defending champions. This is usually a fun game to watch with goals and a lot of excitement, sure to unfold. All eyes on;

West Ham: Bowen 8.5m, Antonio 7.5m, Fornals 5.5m

Man City: KDB 12.0m, Haaland 11.5m, Cancelo 7.0m

Have a wonderful Game week and season at large, we will be sharing more tips as the weeks progress. Cheers

Has a new EPL rivalry been born? Haaland vs Nunez

Haaland v Nunez  Two incredible talents have just signed for two premier league title contenders Erling Haaland was signed to City for the fee of 51 million Euros whereas Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez for a whopping 85 million. The 2022-23 EPL season would indubitably be a joy to watch not only because it’s the most-watched league in the world, not only because there are more chances of upsets during the campaign but because the already intense rivalry between City and Liverpool as both teams added prospective goal machines to their already incredible strike force. Let’s get to the numbers both players have put up: Erling has already established himself as a generational talent as he came into the limelight when he burst into the champions league with RB Salzburg back in 2019 and continued his dominance when he joined Dortmund and scored an outrageous 86 goals in a total of 89 matches played . He’s also very prolific in international outings. Playing for the Norwegian...

Marina Out! A New Dawn for Chelsea FC?

  As we know we are now in the transfer business part of the football calendar, Chelsea interestingly just got over one huge hurdle which is the change of ownership. Over these past weeks, there have been changes in management,  and  also in the team, as some players are leaving and some are still expected to leave but is it going smoothly? I think the first very notable change is the transfer business conduct, usually, Chelsea has been direct in transfer dealings which makes it easy for them but now that the new owner Todd Boehly is temporarily in charge of transfers as Marina is said to be leaving the club this week, it would have an impact definitely. Also , his idea of how a football team should do transfers might be different maybe he likes to grow and build players, buy quality players at low prices and train them or just buy the big names or sell players off the books to generate funds from the club do transfer business as we know that Chelsea has a big squ...
