FPL GAME WEEK 8 PREVIEW

The EPL world has paid tributes to the Late Queen Elizabeth II, and action is back underway in Game week 8, having postponed Game week 7 games. Teams will be looking to come back refreshed and straight back into action. Here we go:

Tottenham v Leicester City: It looks like one that promises many goals, I don’t see a clean sheet in this one and so defensive options might not be the best. However, attacking returns can be expected from;

Tottenham: Kulusevski 8.1m, Kane 12.4m, Son 11.7m.

Leicester: Maddison 8.0m, Dewsbury-hall 5.0m, Iheanacho 6.2m.

Brentford v Arsenal: London derbies are known to be intense. This one looks like there wouldn’t be a clean sheet, as both teams are very heavily attacking teams with both scoring a combined 29 goals already. Attacking options should be considered;

Brentford: Toney 7.2m, Mbueno 6.0m, DaSilva 4.6m.

Arsenal: Odegaard 6.4m, Jesus 8.0m, and Martinelli 6.4m.

Everton v West Ham: Two teams who have had the slowest start to the season look to kick it off today. On paper, West Ham looks like they have a higher advantage in this fixture but they had a mid-week game, and that could impact the way they approach this game. Player picks;

Everton: Gray 5.5m, Gordon 5.5m, Maupay 6.1m.

West Ham: Antonio 7.2m, Fornals 5.4m, Bowen 8.3m.

Aston Villa vs Southampton: Aston villa only looks threatening with potential returns but still hasn't kicked the ground running, same can be said for Southampton which makes this fixture a big gamble. My picks are;

Aston Villa: Bailey 4.7m, Watkins 7.4m, Ramsey 5.2m

Southampton: Adams 6.4m, Armstrong 5.5m, Ward Prowse 6.5m

Nottingham Forrest vs Fulham: Contrast of form here, Nott'm started well but falling off lately while Fulham has been in bullish form from the start. My picks;

Nottingham Forrest: Lingard 5.8m, Johnson 5.9m, Gibbs-white 5.5m

Fulham: Mitrovic 6.7m, Andreas 4.5m, Reid 5.5m

Wolves Vs Man City: Wolves are really struggling in the attack but they’ve added Costa to help strengthen them up front as they face the champions who have Haaland and we needn’t speak any further Picks are;

 Wolves: Neto 5.1m, Costa 5.5m, Podence 5.5m.

City: Haaland 12.0m, Cancelo 7.1m, KDB 12.2m

Newcastle Vs Bournemouth: Newcastle without a win in their last 3, they’ll be out gunning for one against the newly promoted side Bournemouth that came back in their last match against Forest. Picks are:

Newcastle: Isak 7.0m, Almiron 5.0m, Willock 4.9m

Bournemouth: Solanke 5.7m, Billing 5.3m, Christie 5.4m.

Cheers to another week, let's get some points.

Has a new EPL rivalry been born? Haaland vs Nunez

Haaland v Nunez  Two incredible talents have just signed for two premier league title contenders Erling Haaland was signed to City for the fee of 51 million Euros whereas Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez for a whopping 85 million. The 2022-23 EPL season would indubitably be a joy to watch not only because it’s the most-watched league in the world, not only because there are more chances of upsets during the campaign but because the already intense rivalry between City and Liverpool as both teams added prospective goal machines to their already incredible strike force. Let’s get to the numbers both players have put up: Erling has already established himself as a generational talent as he came into the limelight when he burst into the champions league with RB Salzburg back in 2019 and continued his dominance when he joined Dortmund and scored an outrageous 86 goals in a total of 89 matches played . He’s also very prolific in international outings. Playing for the Norwegian...

Marina Out! A New Dawn for Chelsea FC?

  As we know we are now in the transfer business part of the football calendar, Chelsea interestingly just got over one huge hurdle which is the change of ownership. Over these past weeks, there have been changes in management,  and  also in the team, as some players are leaving and some are still expected to leave but is it going smoothly? I think the first very notable change is the transfer business conduct, usually, Chelsea has been direct in transfer dealings which makes it easy for them but now that the new owner Todd Boehly is temporarily in charge of transfers as Marina is said to be leaving the club this week, it would have an impact definitely. Also , his idea of how a football team should do transfers might be different maybe he likes to grow and build players, buy quality players at low prices and train them or just buy the big names or sell players off the books to generate funds from the club do transfer business as we know that Chelsea has a big squ...
